French International School of Hong Kong
Translation of website content
The French International School of Hong Kong (FIS) is a global institution teaching over 2,700 students from ages 3 to 18. It offers both French and international streams, with a student body hailing from some 40 countries.
FIS tasked me with translating their new website content from French to English. Totalling over 30,000 words and delivered in batches, this project required a collaborative approach. This involved asking for clarification and context when needed, and, in some cases, suggesting a few different translation options with rationales. I was also able to draw on my knowledge of website content best practice when translating text for buttons and titles.

We were preparing for our website relaunch and needed the English version to be professional and impactful, to meet the expectations of our international audience. Hannah showed that she understood the ‘FIS lingo’ and didn’t hesitate to make suggestions and discuss alternatives with us.
Hannah is organised and delivers on time. She’s interested in the topic and relevant issues. We’re really happy with how it went – it has been a successful partnership.
